The Right Ballerina is a play about liberal fundamentalism and freedom of
speech and opens up important debates about Arts and politics
Billy Cowan is an award-winning playwright and joint Artistic
Director of Manchester based Truant Company. Billy has written all of Truant
Company's previous plays: Daddy (co-produced with Birmingham Rep), Heart
is a lonely Hunter (24:7 Festival), Smilin' Through (co-produced
with Contact and Birmingham Rep; remounted in 2007 at The Drill Hall), Stigmata (The Drill Hall, 2006) and Care Takers (The Lowry, The Unity Theatre,
Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, Oldham Coliseum 2009 and The Library Theatre
2010).
